Learning log 6

This is the last week of discussing lessons and next week will be the finals. Phew! I'm really not into computer stuff but this course taught me many things about communication and networks. It's very refreshing to know things about it. I just have to prepare for the finals and then, all will be well.

I have to admit, i am not aware of what's happening in the class. I only know that there will be no midterms and we are to present a paper as our project for finals. We presented the paper this week and it was all good. It felt so overwhelming that we managed to finished it even though we had problems on our first chosen topic - Opennms. We changed it to Capsa Free

We were very busy making the final drafts for our final proper, i am not sure if sir Pineda discussed a lesson. Anyway, i was really engaged in revising our paper. So that will be my entry for this week's learning log. Basically, our paper talks about openNMS.

In Week 1 of Data Networks and Communication, I have a deeper understanding on how to make networks using Packet tracer and configuration. Also, how to put up a password in a system and put variables such as names.

Learning log 2

In Week 1 of Data Networks and Communication, I learned these: 1. How to navigate the packet tracer and build networks. * Different types of cables and the necessary materials need to build a network. 2. I learned the differences of a hub, a switch, a router, a bridge. I learned the network requirements needed in a company : Broadcast domain and collision domain.

Learning log 1

In Week 1 of Data Networks and Communication, i learned different topologies. These are the bus topology: the most basic, The ring, star, mesh and Hybrid: The most efficient and expensive. In the assignment that was given, i realized that choosing products and services should be appropriate  and can serve the company effectively and efficiently. The budget alloted was very hard to manage. We had to analyze the things that we REALLY need to avoid redundancies and waste of money. I also learned that in a business there should be a high fault toleronce because in the big companies, a minute of conflict could lose millions of money. Last meeting ( September 28 ), I learned the router, hub and switch.
